Free tool
UTM link builder
Tag a link for a campaign, copy it, and keep the ones you made. Everything runs in your browser; nothing you type is sent anywhere.

Then see them in trckable
Every visit that arrives on one of these links is recorded with its parameters and shown, campaign by campaign, on the Campaigns tab. Start free, or read how channels are decided.
How the link is built
Enter the page you want people to land on, then a source, a medium and a campaign. The tool adds utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign, and utm_term and utm_content if you fill them in. Four details are handled for you.
- Existing parameters stay. If your address already has a query string, such as
?plan=pro, it is kept, and only the UTM tags are added or replaced. - A fragment stays last. An address ending in
#pricingkeeps its anchor after the new parameters. - Values are encoded. Spaces and special characters become safe codes, so the link survives email and chat.
- Lowercase is on. "Email" and "email" are two values to most tools, and the box is ticked so you do not split a source in two by accident. Untick it if you need capitals.
A naming scheme that holds up
A report is only as clean as its names. Decide a short list once and reuse it.
| Where the link goes | Source | Medium |
|---|---|---|
| Your newsletter | newsletter | email |
| A post on X | x | social |
| A Product Hunt page | producthunt | referral |
| A paid search ad | google | cpc |
| A partner's site | the partner's name | referral |
Name the campaign for the purpose and the time, such as launch-week or spring-sale-2026. Use utm_content only when two links in one place need telling apart, such as header-button and footer-link. The full reasoning is in the glossary entry on UTM parameters.
Where your saved links live
"Save to my links" stores the link in this browser's local storage, on this device. There is no account and no server copy, so clearing site data, switching browsers or using a private window shows an empty list. If you need the list elsewhere, copy the links into a spreadsheet.
Questions
- Do I need UTM tags on every link?
- Only on links you place yourself, from outside your site: newsletters, social posts, ads, partner pages, and your profile links. Do not tag links that stay inside your own site, because the tag replaces the real source of the visit.
- Will trckable read these tags?
- Yes. trckable records all five and shows them on the Campaigns tab. A
utm_mediumofemailalso counts the visit as Email, and paid mediums such ascpcas Paid. - Does this tool send my links anywhere?
- No. The page builds the link in your browser. Saved links stay in your browser's local storage on this device and are not uploaded.
- Is it safe to put names or emails in a tag?
- No. The whole link is visible in the address bar, in logs and wherever it is shared. Keep tags to plain labels about the campaign.
The newsletter
Notes on measuring what matters.
Occasional emails from Albi: new posts, one chart worth reading, what changed in trckable.
We send one email to confirm your address, and nothing more until you confirm. Every newsletter has a link to leave. What we keep, and who sends it: privacy.
